Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University is considered to be one of the oldest and well-known universities in Russia. RNIMU named after N.I. Pirogova is the only medical university in Russia to which the National Research University category is assigned. Also known as “Second Moscow” is a parent organization of the Moscow cluster of medical technologies “Yuzhny”, uniting more than 20 scientific and production organizations to coordinate efforts to develop new medical technologies and their implementation in practical healthcare based on the principles of translational medicine, and is the coordinator of the East European Scientific and Educational Medical Cluster. Is also a leading scientific and educational medical center providing training for doctors (specialties – medical business, pediatrics, dentistry), pharmacists, clinical psychologists, social workers, as well as unique medical scientific personnel (specialties – medical biochemistry, medical cybernetics, medical biophysics).
The 6 Year Doctor of Medicine degree offered at Pirogov University is affiliated with all the large hospitals in Moscow and its medical graduates participate in hospital life during a series of internships. The Pirogov University is also considered as one of the largest medical universities conducting research across Molecular Medicine, Personalized Medicine, Regenerative Medicine, Pharmacy, Translational Medicine, Leadership and Health Management.

Note – Students who wish to appear for the ACT16/ERPM in Sri Lanka to obtain the registration on Sri Lanka Medical Council to practice medicine in Sri Lanka should fulfill the Minimum Advanced Level entry criteria (C,C,S for Local A/L Examination and C,C,D for London A/L Examination in the subjects Biology, Chemistry and Physics) stipulated by the Sri Lanka medical Council (SLMC).

The university has 4 housing blocks for 3280 beds / beds. 400 places will be allocated for nonresident applicants in the hostel, 370 of them for applicants for undergraduate and specialty studies, 30 for applicants for residency.
The University offers comfortable and cozy accommodation to all international students. The rooms are provided on sharing basis of same genders. The rooms are fully furnished with central heating and cooling system.
